Volunteer Day: Deer Fence Making at Land of Shambhala
Come and help us build a spiritual paradise to benefit all beings at Land of Shambhala. We are working to prepare the grounds for planting and need to install deer fence. The deer are eating our orchard and farm. We have already installed the fence around 2 sides of the property but we have 2 more to go. We need your help.
1) No children allowed
2) You must have gloves and preferably goggles
3) All new volunteers must sign our volunteer form. please contact July to RSVP or get a volunteer form – [email protected]
Things to Know
Follow your GPS. The road is not well marked. There is a sign that says 837 Taggerty Thornton Road, Thornton Vic.
For those allergic to dogs, there are two friendly dogs on the property that will mostly play with each other or swim in mud.
Lunch is potluck. Please bring something for yourself or to share. Call Julie or RSVP Below to indicate you are coming so we know how much food to prepare.
We have a port-o-potty but not fancy bathrooms.
There is a small work shed where we can all enjoy lunch together. It is an outdoor volunteer activity.
Practice Generosity Through Buddhist Offerings
To make merit for the benefit of all beings and create the causes and conditions for our project to be a success, we encourage you to bring incense, candles, gemstones, crystals, flowers, perfume, prayer flags or water to offer on the property. There is a shrine house as well as areas throughout Malaya Grove farm such as in the Medicine Buddha herb garden mandala and the food forest that we will become a buddha field filled with healing deities of wisdom traditions from around the world. Offer to the deities there to help create the causes for their statues to manifest.
