Yoga is different from other forms of exercise as it focuses not only on the body but also the mind. Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word ‘yuj’ which means to ‘unite or integrate’. The practice is about mind-body connection, specifically:

  • Postures for strength and flexibility
  • Breathing exercises to relieve stress and promote wellbeing
  • Relaxation and meditation techniques for a calmer, clearer mind

The class combines a number of different styles of yoga including Vinyasa, Hatha and Iyengar and focuses on correct alignment of the body in postures with props and modifications (blocks, blankets, straps etc.). This allows for a safe and beneficial experience for students, particularly those with medical limitations.

Please register your interest as class numbers are kept to a maximum of 12. Yoga mats and other equipment provided.
