student of Khentrul Rinpoche
Please email Nicole if you have
any questions about the class
1.30 - 2.15pm - Introduction to
Meditation
Led by
members of
the Tibetan Buddhist Rimé Institute, this is an opportunity
to
hear from personal experience the benefits of meditation, what
meditation is and how it is helpful and practical in our modern lives.
This class includes a short guided meditation. There is no need to wear
any special clothing nor bring any equipment; please come
as
you are.
2.30 - 3.30pm - Teaching and discussion with Khentrul Rinpoche
Rinpoche offers
an insightful explanation of the Buddha's Teachings with his informal
and
relevant style, in a way that can be applied to our daily
lives. Includes the opportunity to ask any questions you may have for
Rinpoche.
4.00 - 5.00pm - Puja (Buddhist chanting prayers)
Pujas are where
we actually get to practice the mind training of Buddhist psychology.
Making offerings and praises counteracts our reluctance to give, to be
patient and to rejoice in the virtuous activities of others. We can
thus purify our negativities and disturbing emotions.
The puja is chanted in English and everyone is most welcome to attend.
