Celebration of the Buddha’s Birth, Enlightenment and Parinirvana

One of the most sacred days in the Tibetan Buddhist calendar is Vesak day, an important day for Buddhists to commemorate the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and death (parinirvana), particularly observed in the Tibetan tradition. We invite the local community to join us for a family day to observe this very special tradition.
The open day provides a range of activities suitable for everyone. An important part of this special day is to build great merit through the practice of generosity.
Ways to practice generosity on the day:
- Bring a plate of food to share with others
- Offer flowers, candles, incense or
- Make a donation.

|1000 -1130 AM||Kalachakra offering puja
All are welcome to participate or observe this traditional Tibetan Ceremony with chanting, playing musical instruments and making traditional Tibetan offerings
|1130 -1230 AM||Kalachakra explanation and question and answer session about Buddhism|
|1230 –1.30 PM||Lunch and browse the stalls with books, gifts and hand made holy paintings, incense and other supports for practice and or enjoy a relaxing Reiki treatment provided by members the Reiki Sangha|
|1.30 – 2.30 PM||Children’s meditation, story time and craft activities – flower offerings|
|1.30 –2.00 PM||Adult meditation|
|2.15 – 3.15 PM||Kalachakra explanation and question and answer session about Buddhism|
