Bringing Balance to Life

About this Class:
In this weekly class we will be exploring the various benefits that can be gained by practicing basic contemplative techniques drawn from the advanced mind sciences of ancient India. From within a secular context, we will learn how to cultivate four aspects of our experience
1) Conative—working with constructive desires
2) Attentional—cultivating stable and clear focus
3) Cognitive—cultivating greater awareness
4) Emotional—nurturing our connections with others
The class is open to anyone with an interest in experiencing greater wellbeing in their lives. Each session is self-contained so feel free to drop-in whenever you can.
To help us cover the costs of running these classes, we are asking for a suggested donation of $15.
About the Instructor:
Joe Flumerfelt is a certified instructor of the Cultivating Emotional Balance curriculum, having completed more than ten weeks of intensive training under the guidance of the western contemplative and scholar B. Alan Wallace and noted psychologist Eve Ekman. Joe came to Australia to study Tibetan Buddhism with the renowned Tibetan Lama Khentrul Rinpoché. Over the last two years, they have collaborated on more than seven books exploring the profound teachings of the Buddha. Joe is currently focused on developing the educational program of the Tibetan Buddhist Rimé Institute.
