Tong Zuk Dechen Ling
The centre was founded in 2006 in the town of Belgrave on the outskirts of the City of Melbourne in the state of Victoria. Within the forested hills of the Dandenong Reserves, this centre provides a simple yet beautiful environment for exploring one’s spiritual potential.
Tong Zuk Dechen Ling offers a variety of study programs that support students through each stage of their personal path. Students here have the rare and precious opportunity to learn about Meditation and Buddhist Philosophy directly from Khentrul Rinpoche, who is the resident teacher here most of the year.
Khentrul Jamphel Lodrö Rinpoche
Khentrul Rinpoche is a Non-Sectarian Master of Tibetan Buddhism. He has devoted his life to a wide variety of spiritual practices, studying with more than 25 masters from all of the major Tibetan traditions. While he has genuine respect and appreciation for all spiritual systems, he has the greatest confidence and experience with his personal path of the Kalachakra Tantra as taught in the Jonang-Shambhala Tradition.
Rinpoche brings a sharp and inquisitive mind to everything that he does. His teachings are both accessible and direct, often emphasising a very pragmatic sensibility. Over the years, Rinpoche has authored a variety of books to guide his students. He has specifically made great efforts to translate and provide commentary on texts which present the gradual stages of the profound Kalachakra Path.
Rinpoche believes that our world definitely has the potential to develop genuine peace and harmony while still preserving our environment and humanity. This Golden Age of Shambhala is possible through the study and practice of the Kalachakra System. To this end, Rinpoche has begun travelling the world to share his knowledge of this unique lineage free from sectarian bias.
